The Pacman Wins By Unanimous Decision
By the Ringside with Manny Team Sunday March 14, 2010 02:36 pm PHT
There was no knockout as some predicted, but Manny Pacquiao made sure that Joshua Clottey knew where the Pacman stood in the boxing scheme of things: still the best pound for pound boxer in the world today.
Pacquiao defeated the physically bigger boxer from Ghana in a unanimous decision after going the full 12 rounds. Clottey played defensive throughout the match, possibly hoping steal it in the last three minutes. But the gamble didn't pay off, and all three judges scored the match for Manny. Pacman took advantage of Clottey's defensive stance to land several body blows and punch combinations.
Over 50,000 fans attended the match at Cowboys stadium in Dallas, and over 22,000 followed the live blog coverage at Ringside With Manny. Check out the live blog blow-by-blow here. Back in the Philippines, the entire nation was of course, at a standstill during a Pacquiao bout.
